Driven! Engage, Accelerate, Motivate
Citing studies that young people ages 19-29 generally struggle to find their place in Christian churches, a group of young Grace Brethren pastors has announced the first-ever national conference for Twenty-Somethings to be held near Columbus, OH, the week of June 15-18, 2005.
Meeting on the historic campus of Kenyon College in Gambier, OH, the conference will feature speakers, multi-sensory worship, coffee talks, breakfast clubs, round tables, workshops, and other activities geared to those in their 20s. For married couples, childcare is being arranged through the Mount Vernon, OH, Grace Brethren Church.
Some of the workshop topics being considered are “Worshiping God as a Lifestyle,” “The Lost Art of Hospitality,” “Spiritual Survival in the Suburbs,” “Urban Life and Ministry,” “Getting a Church-Based College-Age Group off the Ground” and more. The conference is organized around the theme of “Driven: Engage, Accelerate, Incarnate.”
Registration details will soon be available on CE National’s website at www.cenational.org. More details will be available in future editions of FGBC World and on the paper’s website at www.fgbcworld.com.
Committee members planning the conference include Nate Harrison (East Side Columbus GBC), Mike Jentes (The Quest, Columbus, OH), Ezra Wimberly (Norton, OH GBC), Andy Royer (Rittman, OH GBC), Drew Waggoner (Worthington, OH GBC), Matt Reid (Powell, OH GBC) and Kary Oberbrunner (Powell, OH GBC).
