Tony Webb, executive director of Vision USA, a Charis Fellowship cooperating organization, has sent a recent prayer letter. It includes an update on his recovery after being injured in a traffic accident, ways that Vision USA is working across denominational lines, and prayer requests for a variety of projects.
I am so thankful for all the prayer support over the last 7 weeks! So amazing!
There have been at least two ‘things’ going on in our network that has been strange. They are related but somewhat different. I have not seen so much physical attack in our network as I have the last six months. I easily come up with 7 examples of people in our network who have dealt with very different physical (and thus spiritual) attacks. All the way from my accident to other pretty serious matters. So, your prayers are appreciated.
I am getting back at it as the Dr. is directing. I am now working at teaching my left hand to be my left hand again because it is not! Pretty amazing what can happen when it is immobilized for 7 weeks.
Northern Indiana: Cathy and I were blessed to spend the weekend with the Midwest Region of the Brethren Church. Pastor Fred at First Brethren in South Bend and Pastor Wyatt of County Line Brethren hosted a Day of Prayer on Saturday – it was a wonderful time to spend the day praying and sharing!
I was also able to preach at a combined church service with the two churches – that also was amazing to see that happen. That is not happening much these days!
Please be praying for the Midwest region as they work to take the gospel to places it is not!
Brethren Church Licensing training: The Brethren church is one of the denominations that purchased a GSE license so their own people are able to train GSE in both planting and already existing churches environments. They call it GSE New and GSE Renew. Four regions are engaging this and we have the training time set for May 30-31 in Philadelphia. Please pray for us as we prepare for this time, pray for a very effective time as we walk through the core competencies and the team is prepped to train. Also pray for June onward – as this team takes the GSE ideas into their own regions and not only work at starting new churches but also work at forming a gathering culture in their already existing churches. Very exciting days!
The concept we are enjoying is through the licensing agreement, it is their face and their voice walking with their own people as they engage the harvest with more intention with GSE ideas.
We need the prayer, so please keep us in your regular prayers on this and I will keep you updated!
Please also pray for:
*Eric as he continues his work in his Design Refinery in Columbus, leading Cap City in some really innovative things.
*Sam as he continues some amazing conversations and relationship building in Xenia. Pray for him as he recovers from strange symptoms with his legs – ?
*Jim, he leads a network called Corum Deo Association of Churches. He is exploring GSE ideas and he is also doing some innovative things in his network.
*Sean as he leads The Table Network – again, a very innovative network focusing on teaching entrepreneurial ideas so that they start businesses – and also churches!
*Dominic as he leads LINC LA – there are a number of LINC networks in metropolitan cities – they have as their focus to bring Jesus into each neighborhood – exciting stuff.
*Florida, East and West Pa teams in the Fellowship as they continue processing GSE ideas to see what next steps look like.
*West, Midwest, SE and NE regional teams in the Brethren Church – they are engaging the GSE licensing.
*Chris as he is on point in New England strategizing how to best move GSE Planting ideas there.
*Our Advisory Team calls have begun and have begun well.
*The VUSA Field team is also working on our next season Future Story – we are calling it our 2027 Story. This is meant to set our big picture direction for what God wants next for our network’s growth and development. I look forward to sharing these ideas for your prayer coverage!
There are so many things for which I am thanking God and I look forward to what He has next for us.
